


Intro to AR-platform rifle
This class will help introduce shooters into the AR (Armalite Rifle) platform of rifle. For those who have wanted to purchase an AR or already own one but want to know more about the basic functionality, this is the course for you. We will cover topics intended to develop you into a more knowledgeable shooter for further training.
In this class, we will cover the following topics:
Components and function of the rifle
Attachments to build a rifle to your preference
Handling the rifle - How to load, unload and clear malfunctions
Zeroing your rifle for the range
Live fire exercise - Grouping your shots and making adjustments
Time requirement for this class:
Up to 4 hours
Who may attend the class?
All U.S. citizens, age 18+, that can legally own/purchase/possess a firearm.
What you must bring?
A semi-automatic AR-style rifle chambered in 5.56x45 or .223. Firearms must meet requirements and function properly. The instructor has the right to decommission a firearm at any time, for the remainder of the class. PLEASE CONTACT US if you need a rifle supplied for the class. A minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition for the rifle. It is recommended that you bring either 55 or 62 grain, frangible ammunition. We will not allow reloaded ammunition. Please keep ammunition in the package it was shipped in, by a reputable manufacturer.
A minimum of three magazines at a minimum capacity of 20 rounds. The common 30-round magazine will work perfect!
Eye and ear protection. Sunglasses or reading glasses are acceptable. Ear protection must be either the muff style headphone or plastic molded earbud.
Hiking shoes or boots, we will be moving around so make sure to be nimble.
Clothing suitable for conditions. If it’s cold, dress in layers and we will shoot in the rain.
Optional equipment
Bug spray or sunscreen
Snacks or water
Small backpack or fanny pack
