


Basic Pistol
This class teaches you the basics of handguns and how to effectively defend yourself in public as well as in your home. This class meets the requirements of the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida carry permits. During this class, we will discuss:
Introduction into pistols and revolvers - What to consider when selecting a firearm for self defense
Selecting the proper ammunition and safe storage of your firearms and ammunition
Mechanics to become a better shooter - Maximizing your odds to effectively defend yourself
Legalities of self defense in your home and in public
Range qualification to meet Minnesota state standards
Time requirement for the class:
4 to 8 hours, depending on the size of class
Who may attend the class?
All U.S. citizens, age 18+, that can legally own/purchase/possess a firearm. NOTE: You MUST be 21 years of age to pursue your CCW permit for Minnesota and Wisconsin.
What you must bring?
A semi-automatic pistol or revolver that would be a realistic carry option for you. Please refrain from bringing long-barreled .22 caliber pistols. Firearms will be provided by the instructor if needed or if your personal firearm does not meet the requirements or the functionality guidelines.
A minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition for the handgun. If you are using a firearm owned by Victory Promotions, please bring either .380 Auto or 9mm Luger. Ammunition must not be hand loaded and be boxed by a reputable manufacturer (i.e., Remington, Winchester, Federal, Fiocchi etc.). The instructor has the right to reject any ammunition and will have ammunition available for purchase the day of the class. Cost for 50 rounds of ammunition is $20/box.
Eye and ear protection. Sunglasses or reading glasses are acceptable. Ear protection must be either the muff style headphone or foam plugs.
Clothing suitable for conditions. If it’s cold, dress in layers and we will shoot in the rain. Bring boots and a rain jacket if the weather looks questionable.
Optional equipment
Kydex or leather holster, it can be either for inside the waistband, appendix carry, or an open-carry holster. It is recommended to have a minimum of one-level of retention but not mandatory.
Duty belt, if you plan to carry openly during the qualification session.
Bug spray or sunscreen.
Snacks and/or water.
Notebook and pen if you would like to take notes. All of the curriculum will be available for you after the class.
